morning glory October 1
This panoramic picture was shot some years ago; after a windy and cold night in our sleeping bags we got up even before the sunrise - morning glory.

Just wanted to mention that the days have started to close in. Winter is coming again. Yippee!
This pano hot desert was taken at about 2500m from the crater border of the sleeping volcano Teide on Teneriffa. You can see the 3718m peak which is a volcano in a volcano on the right end.
I hope you like it cause it took a lot of sweat to get it.
This pano was taken last year’s September during our 5-days tour through the region of the Totes Gebirge. There is nearly no vegatation on its plateau; nevertheless some very tenacious green has covered the southwestern part.
Wow, this was a long time since my last post. But don’t worry this image is only the begin …
This is one of my very first images I took. The photo shows a view from the Sonntagberg into the “Alpenvorland”. The valley was beautifully coverd with fog. I like the picture because the surrounding hills appear as small islands in the ocean of fog …
P.s.: I’m currently working on a 490 mega pixel panorama image of this view. I hope I’ll have time to publish it this week. For the time to wait I have a smaller version of the pano: panorama view from sonntagberg. So stay tuned … ![]()
In my spare time my favourite sportive playground is the area called Totes Gebirge in Austria; the winterseason is more interesting to me than the summer because one can ski down instead of walking down the whole (long) way again.
The departed winter was not perfect due to the amount of snow - but perfect due to the conditions: silence (no people - because most of them thought there is no snow), virginal slopes, just powder and firn. One of these tours was done in February, 10th 2007. Carrying the skis for at least 2 hours we finally reached the summit of Mt. Feigentalhimmel after 6 hours.
It’s always a stunnig moment standing on the top of a mountain just before sunrise. You have to get up early - so that’s why these experiences are so rare in our life.
This shot was taken on 26th of October 2006 - me and a friend of mine visited Mt. Schieferstein starting early in the morning and reaching the top of this mountain already at 6:45 a.m.
To finally start feeding pictures (as requested/forced by Günter
) I’d like to release one of my panoramas shot aproximately one month ago. While winter has never started in Austria in the valleys in winter season 2006/07 - there even was some snow at higher altitude which could be exhaused for ski touring until the end of april.
This picture was done on 12. April 2007 just before starting to ski down from Mt. Gr.Priel (2515 m). We started in the morning at the altitude of 591 m (Hinterstoder) - and finally were able to ski down more than 1500 m in height (Dietlhölle).
This is a panorama shot i did last weekend on a short trip in Loweraustria in the vicinity of Greseten. It was taken on the Kapler Alm and it shows the view in south direction towards the Ötscher.
