Yesterday this years Linz-Triathlon took place. On sprint and half ironman distance over 1000 triathletes measured against each other. I will add some of the best pictures here in this post.

A beautyful night view of the main tower of the Rothschild castle in Waidhofen. The tower is iluminated by a bunch of flood lights and projectors. It should look as it is burning.

Two weeks ago I visited the Mendlingtal. It is a really beautiful gorge. In the middle of it you cann find this artificial waterfall. I thought this is a nice theme for a long-term shot.

Now I have some macros for you again . I tried my new 430EX in “macro mode”. And these are the results.

This is one of my very first images I took. The photo shows a view from the Sonntagberg into the “Alpenvorland”. The valley was beautifully coverd with fog. I like the picture because the surrounding hills appear as small islands in the ocean of fog …

P.s.: I’m currently working on a 490 mega pixel panorama image of this view. I hope I’ll have time to publish it this week. For the time to wait I have a smaller version of the pano: panorama view from sonntagberg. So stay tuned …

In my spare time my favourite sportive playground is the area called Totes Gebirge in Austria; the winterseason is more interesting to me than the summer because one can ski down instead of walking down the whole (long) way again.

The departed winter was not perfect due to the amount of snow - but perfect due to the conditions: silence (no people - because most of them thought there is no snow), virginal slopes, just powder and firn. One of these tours was done in February, 10th 2007. Carrying the skis for at least 2 hours we finally reached the summit of Mt. Feigentalhimmel after 6 hours.

It’s always a stunnig moment standing on the top of a mountain just before sunrise. You have to get up early - so that’s why these experiences are so rare in our life.

This shot was taken on 26th of October 2006 - me and a friend of mine visited Mt. Schieferstein starting early in the morning and reaching the top of this mountain already at 6:45 a.m.

This is an image I took last weekend. I was inspired by the photos from daily dose of imagenary. But I didn’t want to copy the style so I tried somthing else and brought the “tank” also into the image. And to pep the image up a little bit, I desaturized parts of the photo.
